Haere mai, come see the wonder
Book a personal tour and meet the kaiako who'll help your child thrive. Spaces are filling fast for the new term.
Twenty-five years of wonder, side by side with our community
Little Learners began in 2001 with one room, twelve tamariki and a simple belief, children learn best when they are trusted to play, explore and follow their own curiosity. We have grown since then. That belief has not.
Today we are a whānau of three nature-rich rooms. We still know every child by name, and every family by story.
Four things we hold close
Ako
We learn alongside tamariki, following their wonder, never a worksheet.
Whanaungatanga
Strong, trusting relationships between kaiako, tamariki and whānau.
Kaitiakitanga
Caring for our taiao, we grow, garden and explore outdoors every day.
Manaakitanga
Every child and family is welcomed with warmth, respect and aroha.
The people your child will know
Whaea Mareta
Founded Little Learners in 2001, and still the first to greet you at the gate each morning.
Whaea Hana
Brings waiata, pūrākau and te ao Māori into every corner of our day.
Whaea Lucy
A calm, steady presence who helps our youngest tamariki feel safe to explore.
A few moments along the way
Little Learners opens its doors with one room and twelve tamariki.
Our outdoor classroom and edible gardens are planted.
Te reo Māori is woven through every part of our day.
400+ whānau, three nature-rich rooms, one big family.
Mā te huruhuru, ka rere te manu
Adorn the bird with feathers, and it will fly. Give a child what they need, and watch how far they go.
Come and feel the place for yourself

We gather as a whānau, share a karakia and talk together about our day.
Tākaro: play & discovery

Kai time
Healthy shared kai, and plenty of practising pouring, serving and tidying up.
Te taiao: outdoors
Gardening, climbing, water play and exploring under the trees.
Moe: rest & quiet
Sleep mats, soft waiata and calm for those who need to recharge.
Mahi toi & projects
Painting, storytelling and child-led projects that stretch big ideas.
Reflection & home time
We tidy together, share the day's wonders and wave whānau goodbye.
Why play is at the heart of it
Play is serious work
Through play tamariki test ideas, solve problems and make sense of their world.
Language everywhere
Waiata, stories and rich kōrero build strong early literacy, in two languages.
Confidence to try
Safe risks, climbing higher, trying harder, grow capable, resilient learners.
